Lightning protection design of solar power system controller
The solar MPPT controller of the solar power system only needs the protection of induced lightning (electrostatic induction, electromagnetic induction) and lightning wave. The protection of the controller is to install an over voltage protector in the junction box of the solar array array and the input end of the controller. The input end of the inverter and battery in parallel, and the output end of AC power distribution cabinet is connected with the input end of the inverter, so the protection is in the output of the inverter (i.e., between the fire line and the zero line and the ground, and between the front line and zero line) install overvoltage protector. At the same time, the equipment in the computer room is reliably grounded, and the same grounding potential as the grounding body of the array and the outer frame is arranged to prevent the invasion of the lightning wave and the induction thunder. The protection of AC power distribution cabinet is at the output end of AC power distribution cabinet, that is, the overvoltage protector is installed between the live wire of the overhead line and the ground, between the zero line and the ground, and between the fire line and the zero line. This lightning protection devices all installed in the rain and dust, fixed on the overhead wire rod, fixed position from the overhead ground as close as possible.
The protected device in controller is mainly IGBT, which is generally greater than 500V between the positive pole and the DC voltage, the pulse pressure is 1300V, the normal working voltage between positive and negative pole is DC 260V (up to 390V in a very long time), to achieve the purpose of lightning protection, it is impossible to perform 1 level protection in the 12v mppt solar charge controller, we must use two levels of protection plan:
1 level lightning protection is carried out in the transmission line box behind the battery board, and an overvoltage protector is respectively arranged between the positive pole to the ground and the negative electrode to the ground; An overvoltage protector is arranged between the positive pole to the ground and the negative electrode to the ground at the input end of the MPPT solar charge controllers; The distance between the line box and controller behind the battery board shall be greater than 10m.
