Conversion efficiency of solar powered inverter

The conversion efficiency of the solar powered inverter is the efficiency of the converse the electric power from the solar panel to the electric system. In the solar power system, the inverter play the role of converting the DC power from the solar panels into AC, and transfer power to the power grid. The higher conversion efficiency of inverter is, the more electricity to sale or use can be more.
There are two major factors of inverter efficiency: one is that, when the DC current transfer to AC sine wave, need to use power semiconductor circuit of direct current to switch (a very short period of time turn-on and cut-off), then power semiconductor may generate heat, resulting in a loss. By improving the design of the switch circuit, the loss can be reduced to the minimum. The other factor is to improve efficiency by the inverter control experience. The output current and voltage of the solar panel will change with the sunshine and temperature. The inverter can control the current and voltage to achieve the maximum power (power point). The faster to find the best power point, the higher the conversion efficiency will be.
The control characteristics of the solar energy inverter will be different because of the different manufacturer’s products, and the conversion efficiency is also different.
Though the conversion efficiency of some inverters are high at the maximum power output, while are very low at low output power conversion efficiency, some inverters can keep the average conversion efficiency from high power output to low power output. Therefore, when choose the inverter, need to consider and the matching between the output characteristics and the solar panel.
